Bio

Dudley’s Maria Catalano is an 11-time ranking event winner and former world number one, who claimed her latest title at the 2017 Connie Gough Trophy in Dunstable.

A six-time winner of that event, Maria is also a former UK Ladies Championship winner (2012) and has reached the final of the World Women’s Snooker Championship five times, most recently in 2018 when she defeated friend and rival Reanne Evans in the semi-finals before suffering defeat against Hong Kong’s Ng On Yee.

Maria made her Tour-highest break of 116 during her World Championship semi-final win against Tatjana Vasiljeva in 2012, before losing 5-3 to Evans in the final.

A cousin of multiple world professional champion and all-time snooker great Ronnie O’Sullivan, away from the table she works full-time within a family-owned ice cream business.
