Bio

Yousra Matine made her World Women’s Snooker Tour debut at the 2019 Eden Women’s Masters in London, just months after becoming women’s champion at the 2019 African Games.

Yousra reached the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup event at Frames Sports Bar with victories against Katie Griffin and Amanda Cox, before losing out to England’s Harriet Haynes in the last four.

Her greatest snooker achievement to date came at the 2019 African Games, held in her home city of Casablanca, Morocco. There she defeated Hakima Kissai, Yara Sharafeldin and Gantan Elaskary to emerge victorious and claim the gold medal.

She also claimed silver in the mixed gender doubles competition, playing alongside her fiance Amine Amiri, who would himself triumph in the men’s competition and earn a place on the World Snooker Tour.
