World Women’s Snooker (WWS) is today delighted to announce the first staging of the Albanian Women’s Snooker Open in 2024.

To be played from 29 January – 2 February 2024, the event will take place alongside the prestigious World Snooker Federation (WSF) Championships at the stunning Grand Blue Fafa Resort in Golem, Albania.

The event will be a full world ranking event and subject to entries, will include side-tournaments for Under-21 and Seniors players, alongside a Challenge Cup tournament for players who do not qualify for the knockout rounds.

The WWS Tour has previously hosted tournaments alongside the WSF, most notably in 2018 when the World Women’s Snooker Championship was held in conjunction with the inaugural staging of the WSF Championships.

Most recently, the 2023 Asia-Pacific Championship won by Thailand’s Ploychompoo Laokiatphong also took place alongside the WSF Junior Championship earlier this year in Sydney, Australia.

Mandy Fisher, WWS President said: “This is another hugely exciting announcement for the WWS Tour which will once again see a major ranking event contested as part of this year’s WSF Championships.

“I am pleased that in addition to our existing Belgian Open, we can stage another world class ranking event in mainland Europe and I would like to thank both the WSF and the Albanian Snooker Federation for their cooperation and support.

“The venue looks to be in a spectacular location on the Adriatic coastline and I am sure that everyone who will compete in the event will have a fantastic week of snooker.”

Further information, including entry information will be published in due course.
