Tournament information for the Australian Women’s Open 2025 is now available:
The World Women’s Snooker (WWS) Tour continues from this weekend with its second ranking tournament of the season as the Australian Open will be held across four days from 4-7 October at the Mounties venues in Sydney.
Defending champion Mink Nutcharut will be one of four Thai players set to compete at the event, with former world ranking event winner Ploychompoo Laokitaphong also among the field.
World number one Mink will be bidding to lift the trophy for the third time in her career, following her inaugural success in 2019 and her unforgettable black ball win against Ng On Yee in last year’s final.
The Thai quartet will be joined by players from Australia, New Zealand, China and South Korea in the draw. Home favourite Jessica Woods will be looking to go one better than 2022 when she progressed to the title match at Mounties.
For the first time in Sydney, there will also be side-tournaments held for Under-21 and Seniors players, as well a Challenge Cup competition staged alongside the knockout rounds, for players already out of the main competition.
The format will be as follows:
Group matches will be played over the best of three frames, knockout rounds to be 5/5/7/7.
The format for the side tournaments will be straight knockout.
Please note that the Under-21 tournament will not count towards the Under-21 world rankings due to fewer than four entries having been received.
