Tournament information for the Australian Women’s Open 2026 is now available:
The World Women’s Snooker (WWS) Tour continues from this weekend with its second ranking tournament of the season as the Australian Open will be held across four days from 17-20 October at the Mounties venue in Sydney.

The seventh staging of the tournament as a WWS ranking event is set to welcome a record entry of 29 players, with six of the world’s top 10 set to contest the title won last year by Thailand’s Ploychompoo Laokiatphong.
Among those present in 2026 will be former two-time winners Onyee Ng and Mink Nutcharut, while 12-time world champion Reanne Evans will travel to make her first appearance in the competition since 2018.

Last year’s runner-up Narucha Phoemphul will also return to an event she has enjoyed success at during the past two years, while former US Open finalist Anupama Ramachandran will make her first appearance in Australia as she looks to build upon her semi-final run at last month’s UK Championship.
The event has attracted a strong local entry, with Australian number one Jessica Woods aiming to go one better than her final run in 2022, while last year’s semi-finalist Joey Tohme also returns for another tilt at the title.
There will also be side-tournaments held for Under-21 and Seniors players, as well a Challenge Cup competition staged alongside the knockout rounds, for players already out of the main competition.

The format will be as follows:
Group matches will be played over the best of three frames, knockout rounds to be 5/5/7/7.
The format for the side tournaments will be straight knockout.
Please note that the Under-21 tournament will not count towards the Under-21 world rankings due to fewer than four entries having been received.
