World Women’s Champion Bai Yulu put on a stunning display to beat Egypt’s Mostafa Dorgham 6-1 and make the second round of Victorian Plumbing UK Championship Qualifying in Wigan.
China’s Bai came within one round of qualifying for the York final stages last year. She will now face compatriot Liu Hongyu in this year’s edition. Breaks of 61, 69, 56 and 59 helped her to victory today.
Welsh amateur Jamie Clarke won four frames on the bounce to come from 4-2 down and beat China’s Lan Yuhao 6-4. Clarke top scored with 78 and now faces former English Open finalist Mark Davis.
Three-time ranking event winner Marco Fu won a battle between two Hong Kong icons, defeating former women’s World Champion Onyee Ng 6-2. He now faces compatriot Wang Yuchen.
Liam Pullen beat Kaylan Patel 6-1 to earn a clash with Farakh Ajaib, while Iulian Boiko beat Umut Dikme 6-4 and now plays Liam Davies.
