World Women’s Snooker (WWS) and the Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association (CBSA) have today announced that an incredible 74 players will contest the 2025 World Women’s Snooker Championship in Dongguan Changping.

Following its hugely successful first staging in China last year, the most prestigious event in women’s snooker will return to the Changping Gymnasium from 20-27 May and see a hugely expanded field from 12 months ago.

The main competition – which will see the players contest the Mandy Fisher Trophy and a highly coveted two-year place on the World Snooker Tour – will see its highest recorded entry this century, with 74 players from 11 countries set to compete across three tournaments.

A strong field will include eight of the world’s current top ten ranked stars – including each of the top seven – as well as players from countries including Australia, New Zealand and Singapore which were not represented 12 months ago.

There are also significant entry boosts for the Under-21 and Seniors World Championship competitions with 20 (an all-time record for the junior category) and 15 entries received respectively.

The draw for the round robin group stages of the event will be released closer to the event.

Mandy Fisher, WWS President said: “We are delighted to see such an amazing number of entries for this year’s World Championship which underlines the continued growth of women’s snooker on a global level.

“Last year’s World Championship was the best women’s snooker tournament that I have been a part of during my 44 years, and I have no doubt that this year’s event will be even better with so many fantastic players involved.”
