Bio

Hannah Jones is a former British Open finalist who returned to the World Women’s Snooker Tour in September 2023 following an eight-year break from competition.

Jones impressed at the UK Championship, successfully qualifying from her round robin group before scoring an impressive 3-1 win against Northern Ireland’s Chucky Preston to reach the last 16.

She would repeat that run at the Eden Masters and British Open competitions later in the campaign, narrowly losing out 3-2 to Tessa Davidson and Katrina Wan respectively during her comeback campaign. At national level she also reached the semi-finals of the EPSB English Women’s Snooker Championship in May 2024.

Early Career

Hannah’s long-awaited comeback followed a notable ‘first’ career which began at the age of just nine at the 2006 Northern Championship and saw her claim a number of notable honours from 2006-2015.

Her best result came at the 2013 British Open when she reached the final before losing 4-1 to Reanne Evans. She also reached semi-finals at the 2014 Connie Gough Trophy and 2010 Wytech Masters, as well as 13 Tour quarter-finals.

She also won a record 20 Under-21 titles – including six World Women’s Under-21 crowns (2008-2011, 2013-14) – and six Plate competitions as she established herself as one of the Tour’s most promising talents.

In 2013, Hannah reached the quarter-finals of the World Women’s Snooker Championship for the first time having topped a five-player group that included leading players Emma Bonney and Man Yan So.
