Bio

Thailand’s Narucha Phoemphul reached her first ranking event final at the 2025 Australian Women’s Open as she continued to underline her status as one of the most promising young talents in our sport.

Known as ‘Jel’, she improved upon her semi-final result a year earlier to reach the title match in Sydney, before ultimately losing out 4-1 to compatriot Ploychompoo Laokiatphong.

The run nevertheless marked a year of progress on the WWS Tour for Phoemphul, who had climbed from 46th position to a new high of number seveen over the course of 12 months. A further semi-final appearance at the British Open also included one of two notable victories against 12-time world champion Reanne Evans during the calendar year, who she also defeated at the UK Championship later in the year.

Known as ‘Jel’, the Thai player made her competitive debut aged just 13 at the 2019 World Championship in Thailand, before returning to the Tour in 2023 at the World Championship and British Open competitions.

In March 2024, she reached the final of the World Under-21 Championship for the first time, losing out to China’s Bai Yulu in the title match. She has since gone on to win three Under-21 side-tournaments to date, her first coming at the 2024 Women’s Masters, followed by the Belgian Open and UK Championship in 2025.
