Tournament information for this weekend’s Taom UK Women’s Snooker Championship is now available:

The 2025/26 World Women’s Snooker (WWS) Tour gets underway this Friday at the Northern Snooker Centre in England with the latest staging of the Taom UK Women’s Snooker Championship.

The prestigious event celebrates 10 years at its current home in Leeds and remains one of the most sought-after titles on the calendar, with only the World Championship held on more occasions.

A typically high-quality field will see eight of the world’s tope nine ranked players take part, headed by reigning world champion Bai Yulu, who lifted the UK crown for the first time in her career last year.

The Chinese star is set to be joined by world number one Mink Nutcharut – who is chasing her first UK title – record 12-time winner Reanne Evans and four-time UK champion Ng On Yee.

England’s Rebecca Kenna will be looking to improve upon her run to the final in 2021, with former world champion Baipat Siripaporn, three-time UK Championship winner Tessa Davidson and last year’s US Open runner-up Anupama Ramachandran also among the seeded players.

Alongside the main competition, there will also be side-tournaments held for both Seniors and Under-21 players, as well as a Challenge Cup competition staged on Sunday, for players already knocked out of the main competition prior to the quarter-finals.

The event will be sponsored for a fourth successive year by Taom Billiards, pioneers of the revolutionary Taom V10 chalk used by many snooker players around the world and our hosts at the Northern Snooker Centre.

Format

This weekend’s format will be as follows:

  • The 32 players have been drawn into eight groups of four players
  • The top two players from each group will progress to the last 16 stage
  • All qualifiers from the group stages will be positioned in the knockout draw according to group stage performance in line with our established qualifying criteria

Group matches will be played over the best of three frames, knockout rounds to provisionally be 5/5/7/7.

The format for all side-events will be straight knockout. All players not reaching the quarter-finals will be eligible for the Challenge Cup.
