The 50th anniversary edition of the World Women’s Snooker Championship will see the biggest names in women’s snooker contest the Mandy Fisher Trophy in Dongguan Changping, China.

Organised by World Women’s Snooker (WWS), the Chinese Billiard Sports Association (CBSA) and Cantonese Snooker, the prestigious event will be held for the first time at the stunning Snooker Sports Arena from 12-19 May 2026. The winner is once again guaranteed to earn a place on the professional World Snooker Tour from the start of the 2026/27 season.

A record 78 players – an increase from 2025 – are set to compete across the week, with an elite field set to include 14 of the world’s top 15 currently ranked players in China.

The group stage draw for the tournament, which has been won during the last two years by 22-year-old Bai Yulu, has now also been released with two players to qualify from each of the 16 groups and progress to the knockout rounds.

The knockout draws have also been released for the Under-21 and Seniors World Championships, which will see Panchaya Channoi of Thailand and England’s Tessa Davidson defend their titles respectively.

The event saw its pre-event press conference take place before assembled media on Friday, with reigning champion Bai among those in attendance.

Mandy Fisher, WWS President said: “We are delighted to be back in Dongguan Changping for a third successive year and even more so to be at the incredible new Snooker Sports Arena for the first time.

“It is again fantastic to see such a strong entry for the event, which is set to be the biggest ever since WWS was founded almost 45 years ago and I cannot wait for the action to get underway next Tuesday.”

The tournament will be officially launched with an opening ceremony on Monday 11 May, to be followed by the first matches from Tuesday. The full match schedule will be released shortly.
