Bio

Miina Tani of Japan reached her first ranking event semi-final at the 2022 Australian Women’s Open to break into the world’s top 30.

The 17-year-old finished second in her eight-player round robin group, before recording a 3-1 victory against Kathy Howden to reach the last four of a ranking event for the first time, ultimately losing out to Australia’s Jessica Woods.

Miina made her debut on Tour aged just 14 at the 2019 World Women’s Snooker Championship and has since gone on to compete at a number of tournaments, notably reaching the last 16 stage of the World Women’s Snooker Championship in 2022 and 2024.

She also reached the semi-finals of the 2022 World Under-21 Championship, losing narrowly to Lilly Meldrum 3-2.
