World Women’s Snooker (WWS), the China Billiard Sports Association (CBSA) and Cantonese Snooker (Changping) have announced a historic agreement which will see the World Women’s Snooker Championship stay in Dongguan Changping, China until at least 2031.

The contract-extension follows an initial three-year agreement which has seen the prestigious tournament successfully staged in China since 2024.
This year’s Championship was held at the Snooker Sports Arena for the first time, an all-new facility built and designed for the tournament, providing a world class environment for women’s snooker.

The 2026 event saw 78 players – the highest entry for any WWS tournament in over 30 years – compete for the top prize and a coveted two-year professional World Snooker Tour card.
The new agreement was announced at a signing ceremony held following the final of this year’s World Championship won by Thailand’s Panchaya Channoi, with Mandy Fisher, WWS President, Qin Jihong, CBSA Secretary General and Huang Zhufeng of Cantonese Snooker each signing the new contract.

The event will see increased total prize money each year during the term of the contract, with all parties fully committed to the long-term growth of the Championship.
Mandy Fisher, WWS President and Chair said: “We are thrilled with today’s announcement that the World Women’s Snooker Championship will remain in Dongguan Changping for at least the next five years.
“For the past 45 years, all I have ever wanted is for women’s snooker to be played at a professional venue like this and so this is a dream come true for me.

“The support we have had for this event has been overwhelming and I cannot thank everyone who has supported the event enough. We share the same vision for the future of women’s snooker and with our mutual ambition, I have no doubt that the best is still to come.”
Jason Ferguson, WPBSA Chairman said: “The WPBSA is proud to support all areas of snooker, and I am delighted to see women’s snooker continue to thrive and reach new heights with this continued partnership.”
