Bio

Jan Hughes returned to the World Women’s Snooker Tour following a seven-year absence at the 2019 World Women’s Seniors Championship, finishing as runner-up to six-time champion Jenny Poulter.

In August that year Jan avenged her defeat to Poulter at the semi-final stage of the UK Seniors Championship, before going on to defeat Bugsie Cothier in the final to lift the title. At the age of 70, she became the first ever Seniors number one following the introduction of a new ranking list.

Jan previously made her debut back in 1988 and has since captured six side-event titles in all spanning a period of 30 years. She has twice reached the semi-final stage of a main ranking event, first at the 2006 Northern Championship, before repeating the feat at the 2007 South Coast Classic.
