England’s Reanne Evans has defeated Mink Nutcharut 5-0 in the final to win the Niche Cues Women’s Snooker Open held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the first time this week.
The victory sees Evans become the third different winner of a ranking event from three events held so far this season and is her first title since since her previous triumph at the 2025 Belgian Open. It is her 64th ranking event success of her glittering 24-year career to date and continues a rich vein of form which has seen her reach four finals from the past three events held.

The 41-year-old – who also celebrated her birthday during the tournament – earned victory the hard way as having qualified from her group, she then defeated Yuk Fan Lau, world champion Panchaya Channoi, world number one Bai Yulu and finally former world champion Mink to seal glory.
Her toughest clash en route to the final saw her win the final two frames to edge Channoi 3-2 in the quarter-finals, while Mink also had to survive a deciding-frame in the semi-finals against Mongolia’s Narantuya Bayarsaikhan to reach her second final in a week, having also reached the Australian Open.

The final itself would prove to be a one-sided affair as Evans dominated throughout, crucially taking the fourth frame on the black with a clearance to all but extinguish the hopes of her Thai opponent, whose own title drought dating back to January 2025 extends further.
The highest break of the competition was a run of 90 compiled by Bai Yulu during her quarter-final victory against So Man Yan.

Thailand’s Panchaya Channoi claimed her fifth career Under-21 title following a 2-0 win against compatriot Narucha Phoemphul in Malaysia.
The reigning world under-21 champion defeated Candyce Leow Xin Tian, Wang Ruotong and Liu Ziling to reach the final, before toppling top ranked Phoemphul to lift her first silverware since becoming world champion in May.

In the Seniors competition there was a first-ever WWS title for China’s Xiaomin Su, who overcame Mongolia’s Adiyadolgor Chimedvaam 2-0 to lift the crown for players aged over-40.
Previously a semi-finalist at the World Women’s Seniors championship in 2025, Su defeated Sharon Chua and Yuen Yuen Cheah to reach the final, before overcoming Chimedvaam to secure victory.

The Challenge Cup competition for players who did not reach the last 16 stage was won by Hong Kong China’s Chu Pui Ying, who defeated Thailand’s Thitapon Nakkaew following a dramatic deciding frame which came down to the final pink ball.

World Women’s Snooker would like to extend its thanks to Niche Premium Snooker, including all its staff and the tournament officials from Malaysia who helped ensure the smooth running of this landmark first event in the country.
