Tournament information for this weekend’s US Women’s Snooker Open is now available:

The second World Women’s Snooker (WWS) ranking tournament of the season sees the Tour head to the United States for the landmark first staging of the US Women’s Open from Ox Billiards in Seattle.

The 15-player field includes five established Tour players, headlined by current World Snooker Tour professional Rebecca Kenna and former world women’s under-21 champion Emma Parker from the top 10.

They are joined by several debutants based in the United States and Canada, including WPBA professional Mary Avina who we recently spoke to ahead of the tournament.

There will also be a Challenge Cup tournament held for players who do not progress to the knockout stages of the main competition.

This weekend’s format will be as follows:

  • The 15 players have been drawn in three groups of five players
  • The top two players from each group will progress to the knockout stage, as well as the best two third placed players
  • All qualifiers from the group stages will be positioned in the knockout draw according to group stage performance in line with our established qualifying criteria

Group matches will be played over the best of three frames, knockout rounds to be 5/7/7.

The format for the Challenge Cup will be straight knockout.
