Entry is now open for the 2025 World Women’s Snooker Championship as the most prestigious tournament in women’s snooker will return to Dongguan Changping following its groundbreaking first staging in China last year.
Organised by World Women’s Snooker (WWS), the Chinese Billiards and Snooker Association (CBSA), Cantonese Snooker (Changping) and the Dongguan Billiards and Snooker Association, the event will run from 20-27 May 2025 with the winner set to earn a two-year World Snooker Tour card from the start of the 2025/26 season.
Victory for Bai Yulu at last year’s tournament crowned the biggest staging of the most significant tournament in women’s snooker to date, with matches played in the spectacular Changping Gymnasium venue, which will once again host the competition in 2025.
Players from a range of countries including China, Mongolia, India, Thailand, England, Japan, Hong Kong China, Germany were among those to take part in 2024, with matches played in world class conditions before large crowds of spectators for the final rounds.
Leading players including reigning champion Bai, world number one Mink Nutcharut, record 12-time champion Reanne Evans and three-time world champion Ng On Yee are expected to lead an all-star field at the 42nd running of the event since its first recognised staging in 1976.
The event is open to all women players, of any age, nationality or level of experience as WWS and its partners remain committed to the global development of women’s snooker and the creation of opportunities for women and girls to play the sport competitively.
Alongside the main competition, the event will also include the staging of the Under-21 and Seniors World Championship tournaments, won last year by Bai Yulu and England’s Tessa Davidson respectively.
Entry for all three tournaments is to be made via WPBSA SnookerScores prior to the entry deadline of 1:00pm BST/8:00pm CST on 10 May 2025.
